Since taking the Oval office President Obama stated in 2010 that it is his intention to pursue a more committed immigration reform overhaul with a newer more comprehensive reform for legal status creating a system in which the U.S. will have a stronger border security and a systematic process for people to come in providing opportunity for those who are already here to be able to achieve citizenship. That was then, this is now.
Now, the Obama administration is moving forward pushing the Dream Act giving illegal immigrants who came to the U.S. as children a chance at legal status. What the Dream Act has accomplished allowing the children’s parents that entered illegally citizenship providing more illegals to cross the U.S. borders producing a massive baby boom. If the president and his administration push this through the move would pardon tens of millions of illegal immigrants with exoneration without approval by Congress. According to the Pew Center, there are more than 50 million Hispanics in the U.S.
Congress attempted to pass immigration reform earlier this year, having failed in the legislative process. In my opinion the Obama administration has simply decided to take over Congress’s constitutional authority and implement an amnesty program for millions of illegal aliens for Obama’s reelection in 2012. Hispanics generally are not affiliated with one particular political party, but jumping ship to which party supports immigration.
The Obama administration is quite aware of what will shape the 2012 election as the latest U.S. Census has shown Hispanics are not just the country’s fastest growing population because of failed immigration reform. They are also an increasing large amount of untapped voters. The president understands that for his reelection, he must tap into those key heavy populated states to gain election votes by offering Amnesty. To accomplish this Obama will prioritize how illegals are deported.
According to Latino voices, “it is estimated that by 2012 there will be some 10 million Americans of Latino descent that can vote – but will have not registered to do so.” Voter registration is another form identifiers of citizenship responsibilities for identification unlike the “Green Card” which can be easily obtain by fraudulent means.
The Obama administration announced they would start a case by case review of illegal immigrants scheduled for deportation in an effort to narrow the list and focus resources on kicking out criminals. What’s disturbing is the administration only wants to deport people with a criminal record who have just entered the country illegally or had been previously deported and re-entered. There is a law in place against illegal entry onto American soil which is a crime period. Obama is justifying illegal immigration for votes. I cannot sugar coat this anymore for what it is.
The administration has refused to enforce many immigration laws instead placing its own political agenda ahead of its constitutional accountabilities to carry out laws enacted by Congress per the constitution. With the help of the U.S. Justice Department, it has prevent state governments like Arizona’s groundbreaking SB 1070 from implementing laws aimed at opposing illegal immigration.
Because Congress failed in the legislative process, the Obama administration has decided to “usurp Congress’s constitutional authority.” This is not the answer to execute an amnesty program for millions of illegal aliens for the mere campaigning of reelection. Immigration reform has failed Americans again. Now Obama has taken illegal immigration in exchanged for votes.
